How to Export Your Habit Data

100life stores everything on your phone and nowhere else. Exporting creates a backup file you fully control — use it to move to a new phone or simply to keep a copy. Export is free.

Why does an offline app need manual backups?

100life is local-first: your habits, daily entries, and notes live in the app's storage on your device and are never sent to us or to any cloud. That is what makes the app private — there is no server copy for anyone to read, sell, or leak. The tradeoff is that there is also no server copy to restore from. If you lose your phone or delete the app without a backup, the data is gone, and we cannot recover it for you, because we never had it.

The export file is the answer to that tradeoff. It puts the backup under your control: you decide where it lives and who can touch it.

How do you export your data?

  1. Open 100life and go to Settings.
  2. Tap Export Data.
  3. Choose where to save the file — iCloud Drive, Google Drive, your files app, or send it to yourself by email or message.
  4. Keep the file somewhere you will find it again.

The whole thing takes under a minute. Exporting is free and always will be part of the current feature set.

How do you move to a new phone?

  1. On your old phone, export your data (Settings → Export Data).
  2. Make sure the file is reachable from the new phone (cloud drive, email, cable).
  3. Install 100life on the new phone from the App Store or Google Play.
  4. Use the import option in Settings and pick the export file.

Your habits and history come across, and your 100-day journey continues where it left off. Because there is no account, there is nothing to sign into — the file is the transfer.

How often should you export?

A good rhythm is to export at the end of each phase of your 100 days — that is five natural checkpoints, roughly every two to four weeks. Export after any day that would hurt to lose, and always export before switching phones or reinstalling the app. If you want to understand why the app is built this way, read what local-first means.
